All the years of her life - Post reading

Last year I did something that I'm ashamed of. It all started when I fell in love with my best friend's boyfriend - Liam. I did something which I really regret. Luckily, my friend and I are still friends. But I sure learned my lesson.

It was a hot summer day when I first saw him. My friend, Mia, wanted me to meet her boyfriend, Liam. We decided to meet at the cinema. When I arrived, Mia introduced  me to Liam. After the three of us had been spending the whole day together, I totally fell for him. The next day, I called him and told him I wanted to talk about Mia; but it wasn't the truth. We decided to meet at the local cafe.

I was very excited. I put on my most beautiful dress and a little bit lipstick. As I opened the door to leave my house, my cell phone rang. It was Mia and she wanted to ask me if I wanted to go to the mall with her. I told her that I had to stay home with my little sister. I arrived to the cafe and he was waiting for me to come. We talked and we had fun. I don't know how, but we suddenly kissed and at that very moment Mia walked into the cafe with her mom. She turned around quickly and ran away.

I apologized, but it took her more than a month to forgive me. I'm sorry I hurt my best friend. I shouldn't have done that. Mia and Liam are no longer a couple now, and I don't see him either. I realized that it was not worth losing a dear friend for some guy. I'll never let any man to come between me and Mia anymore.

All The Years OF Her Life | Pre Reading

5) We're tired of cleaning after the mess you make
and complaining about the unhealthy food you love to eat.
We don't like it when you're watching T.V so loudly all day long,
instead of studying and doing your homework.

    But one day you'll understand
that we won't be there for you forever.
You're old enough to make you're own decisions
and take responsibility for your actions.

This really excellent! Well done!

To the editor,

Lately I've read the article "Israel suspends standardized tests"  in your paper. I oppose to the execution(ww.) of the Meitzav tests. In my opinion we shouldn't use the Meitzav tests to evaluate students' academic achievements. I don't think that these tests are effective. I believe that there are better ways to do that.

I think the Meitzav tests don't reflect the abilities of the students. Tests like these make the student nervous. They mainly test the student's memory, but not his knowledge. Moreover, the Meitzav tests are not fair because all students do the test in the same level, no matter if they're better or weaker than the others.

In my opinion, there are some better ways to evaluate students' achievements than the Meitzav tests. One of them, for example, is doing projects. Doing a project has some advantages. First, it's a much more enjoyable way to study. Also, the students will get a chance to show their knowledge because they're not under pressure. In addition, the students won't have to remember the material by heart, which is easier.

To conclude, I think that we should stop using the Meitzav tests to evaluate students' achievements. The results of it are: low grades, nervous students and it's really not fair to the weaker students.

Sincerely Yours,
Jena Parker

Excellent work. Well done!
